NEONIK 68, NEONIK 68 Guardian of Light

The captain signed the letter with a smile
Ive walked the path Ive gained another mile
I stand so tall within this uniform
A sergeant now a shelter from the storm
The lines of duty etched upon my soul
Ive found my place Im finally in control

I left the fields where I was just a boy
To find a strength that time cannot destroy
No longer bound by shadows of the past
Ive found a purpose that is built to last

From distant lands where icy waters run
I watch the world before the morning sun
Across the peaks where eagles learn to fly
I send my love it lights the northern sky!
Im proud to stand Im proud to hold the line
Between your world and everything divine

Youd wonder at the world I see out here
Where every breath is crystalline and clear
The northern lights a crown upon the night
They dance for us a symphony of light
Im part of this Im part of something grand
A guardian of this ancient frozen land

We watch the border where the silence grows
In every wind in every drift of snow
And though I miss the warmth of your embrace
I find my honor in this sacred place

From distant lands where icy waters run
I watch the world before the morning sun
Across the peaks where eagles learn to fly
I send my love it lights the northern sky!
Im proud to stand Im proud to hold the line
Between your world and everything divine

I chose to stay I chose this rugged life
To be the edge of dutys golden knife
I wont be home when autumn leaves descend
But Im a man on whom the worlds depend
Its not a scar its strength within my heart
To know our souls will never be apart

So wait for me my love as winter nears
Ive conquered doubt and I have conquered fears
Two years away have made me what I am
A stronger heart a better wiser man

From distant lands where icy waters run
I watch the world before the morning sun
Across the peaks where eagles learn to fly
I send my love it lights the northern sky!
Im proud to stand Im proud to hold the line
Between your world and everything divine

Im coming home a better man
Just wait for me where we began
