Between the cliffs where every turn is known by restless winds
A mountain lake lies hidden where the endless blue begins
You wont find it on a map no road can lead you there
Only swans return each springtime gliding through the air
Softly fell the light on water mirroring the clouds
White wings drifting all together graceful free and proud
No fear and no suspicion only open skies ahead
While a wicked sorcerer waited by the waters edge
But the swans could never know
Theyd fly their final flight
A spell above the silent lake
Was waiting there that night
White wings turning over water
Like one last circle drawn
How could any bird have known
That something dark was waiting all along
They descended to the surface like a mirror made by fate
Then the ancient magic closed around the silent lake
All the valley fell to stillness even winds refused to blow
And the echoes in the mountains had no songs to carry home
Nevermore to reach the heavens never greet the rising sun
Only circles on the water showed where all of them had gone
The evil sorcerer believed his victory was complete
But he never knew that beauty was a power he couldnt beat
But the swans could never know
Theyd fly their final flight
A spell above the silent lake
Was waiting there that night
White wings turning over water
Like one last circle drawn
How could any bird have known
That something dark was waiting all along
Then in spring when all the winter ice had melted in the sun
Flowers slowly filled the water when the colder days were gone
White as wings that disappeared and never crossed the sky again
Lilies gently moved like whispers on the surface of the lake
And each springtime when the seasons bring another March and May
They keep the memory of freedom in that quiet hidden place
The cruel sorcerer could never make their beauty disappear
The swans are still alive
In the white lilies blooming here
