The driver said there’s only emptiness ahead
That there’s no light, no people out there
I looked at him and said, “I know. That’s exactly where I need to go.”
A one‑way ticket
I’m staring through the window; water’s sliding down the glass
I’m heading to a place I’ve never been before
There’s a crumpled ticket in my pocket, cold granite in my chest
My phone’s been dead silent for over an hour now
I crossed the line where bridges can’t save you anymore
Left my dreams shattered to dust back in the past
They told me, “Get off while you still can, hero,”
But this city’s long felt like a stranger to me
The engine hums, slicing through the nighttime dark
I’m driving into the abyss, not knowing why or for whom
Alone in the cabin, shadows glide across my face
I’m heading toward my ending, toward the final place
Faces, buildings, foreign lights flash by
We’re the only ones in this old bus tonight
And even if there’s a cliff ahead, or a silent wall…
I’ll drink this emptiness down to the very last drop
I’m riding to the last stop! To where the light goes out
To where I won’t find answers to any of my doubts
I know it’s winter there, I know there’s no one around
But I’m not expecting anything from this life anymore
Let them say it’s foolish, let them call it the end
I’m just too tired of all this lies to pretend
There’ll be no more chances, no new meetings in sight
Everything that came before—it all needs to burn tonight
Stops fly by, the cabin’s getting emptier by the minute
I’m leaving behind the baggage of all my past problems
I could’ve gotten off at the last one, gone back to some warm comfort
But that comfort stopped recognizing me long ago
Every corner there screams that I’ve already lost the fight
So I ran away, turning this ride into my final act
Rain pounds on the roof, almost knocking the rhythm off beat
My road now is a done deal, a clear, cold fact
I don’t know what’s waiting beyond that turning ring
But I’m ready to face the darkness with an open, honest face
No one will be there to greet me, no one will offer a hand…
But that’s better than living while dying from this suffocating stand
Faces, buildings, foreign lights flash by
We’re the only ones in this old bus tonight
And even if there’s a cliff ahead, or a silent wall…
I’ll drink this emptiness down to the very last drop
Headlights snatched a rusty sign out of the darkness
No road ahead. Just forest and fog from here on out
The doors hiss open
It’s time. I knew there’d be nothing there
But sometimes freedom smells exactly like this…
Like cold and loneliness
I’m riding to the last stop! To where the light goes out
To where I won’t find answers to any of my doubts
I know it’s winter there, I know there’s no one around
But I’m not expecting anything from this life anymore
Let them say it’s foolish, let them call it the end
I’m just too tired of all this lies to pretend
There’ll be no more chances, no new meetings in sight
Everything that came before—it all needs to burn tonight
Last stop
Please clear the cabin
There’s no way back
But you know…
It feels so much easier to breathe here
