Duplex Drive Stencil (Template After Dark mix)

The city is white noise, a broken radio wave
I carry my stencil and lens through the crowded street
In thousands of faces, I search for a familiar shape
And filter out whatever doesn't fit the frame
All that won't fit just blurs and fades to black
The retina catches only what it's allowed
We move by touch through a blind and crowded world
Reducing this complex world to the size of a target

We cannot see the door if we don't hold the key
We'll never find the fire until we define the spark
We stare straight ahead, catching rays we barely see
A flickering lantern sliding across the dark
To find the answer, you have to know its shape
You only see the world your own mind designs

Gardens are blooming, ships are falling from the sky
Someone sings underground, someone screams about what matters
But on my narrow radar, none of it registers here
If they're not in my mind, then they might as well not exist
Blinders pulled tight, every step already set
Inside my custom filters, no other channels play
If I seek a lighthouse, the sunrise slips away
And searching for a ford, I never see the depths

We cannot see the door if we don't hold the key
We'll never find the fire until we define the spark
We stare straight ahead, catching rays we barely see
A flickering lantern sliding across the dark
To find the answer, you have to know its shape
You only see the world your own mind designs

Knock the lens off
Break this ruthless zoom
Step beyond the frame where no markers have been drawn
What if I let this noise inside my head
Reset my settings in the old and darkened park
If I erase the sketch, throw away the plans
Maybe then I'll remember how to live
To find what we seek
We first must know
But if we know
Why search at all
The loop is closing
Focus
Reset
The answer kills the question in your head
