In the hazy mist of days gone by
I recently had a sweet dream unfold
In a foggy garden i walked with her
Madly in love or so i was told
But the wind blew and the leaves fell down
Then the mist faded and vanished in the air
And in that moment i understood it all
Her words were only sweet deceit laid bare

From the wondrous scents of those trees
I became drunk as if from wine
She kept saying you are the best of all
And that she must truly be in love
But as always she was cold and sad
And i could not understand why
It felt like an ice wall once again
Keeping me from holding her close

The love i once saw in dreams so bright
Now i will leave only in those dreams
We seemed to share it though not completely
It was never equal it seems
And she lied about her love for me
And i caught her lies again and again
It was not love that much i know
It was only an illusion of love in vain
