The time machine bears me back through the years,
I've walked through epochs many and vast,
And I cannot say that joy appears,
Finding answers to questions long asked, long past.
I saw myself how all was in truth,
Not as the victor writes for our eyes,
I love to wander where myths hold their youth,
Where each may choose the tale that he likes, that belies.
The time machine — it is a cinema hall,
Where I sit as a grateful beholder,
For many years upon that stage I played for all,
But now I've grown — a film viewer, not soldier.
But what remains, now answers are in hand?
In this present, truth is not what they seek,
And what of kings dethroned, stripped, unmanned?
For truth is not prized by the many, the weak.
And so from futures far I stand apart, observer,
And still I gaze upon all from afar,
In this time I'm but a guest — truth's humble server,
I'll give no answers, let them wait for their own star.
The time machine — it is a cinema hall,
Where I sit as a grateful beholder,
For many years upon that stage I played for all,
But now I've grown — a film viewer, not soldier.
The Time Machine — it is a cinema hall,
For all of us, for one and all,
We play, we watch, we rise, we fall —
The screen shows truth to great and small.
The time machine — it is a cinema hall,
Where I sit as a grateful beholder,
For many years upon that stage I played for all,
But now I've grown — a film viewer, not soldier.
I'm the observer,
The viewer,
I'm the observer,
The viewer,
I'm the observer,
The viewer,
I'm the observer,
The viewer.
