Spring comes gently, soft and slow,
As nature wakes from winter's dream —
The snow, now water, starts to flow,
May sunbeams melt the frozen stream!
And now my eyes delight to see
Snowdrops, crocuses, lungwort's hue —
They gift their blue, their gold, their purple glee
The cuckoo-flower, coltsfoot, woodruff too!
Spring — has come!
Has come — the Spring!
With nature waking, I'm alive!
I see your smile — and everything,
Like snow beneath the sun, I melt, I thrive!
Then suddenly the leaves appear —
The willow, alder, osier green.
The hazel dons her earrings dear,
Her time has come — and birch is seen!
Perhaps for me, as well, the hour
To loosen strictness, soften care,
To let joy smile upon my bower,
And greet each day with laughter rare!
Spring — has come!
Has come — the Spring!
With nature waking, I'm alive!
I see your smile — and everything,
Like snow beneath the sun, I melt, I thrive!
You, at long last, came...
So long awaited...
So deeply wanted...
My Spring...
Spring — has come!
Has come — the Spring!
With nature waking, I'm alive!
I see your smile — and everything,
Like snow beneath the sun, I melt, I thrive!
