City of masks…
City of roles…
Take yours off…
Show me who you really are…
City of masks and roles
Everybody plays kings
When the streetlights die
You finally see the fakes within
City of masks and roles
Ego costs more than dreams
When the lights go out
Only fear remains underneath
This city’s full of faces
But nobody has a face
Everybody wearing rented lives
Trying to keep up the race
Clothes on credit
Cars on loans
Life staged for display
But behind expensive windows
There’s just emptiness and pain
Everybody acts important
Like they already made it
But in reality they’re drowning
Trying hard to fake it
Photos in expensive clubs
Champagne up in the air
Then walking home alone at night
With silence and despair
Smiling in your face
While rotting behind your back
Calling you my brother
Then disappearing when you crash
This city taught me
Never trust beautiful words
Trust actions
Trust eyes
Not performance for the world
City of masks and roles
Everybody plays kings
When the streetlights die
You finally see the fakes within
City of masks and roles
Ego costs more than dreams
When the lights go out
Only fear remains underneath
On social media
Everybody rich and successful
But in real life
Some can’t even buy dinner
Rented clothes
Rented lifestyle
Rented confidence
Everything for show
While loneliness lives underneath
Girls with perfect lips
Guys with chains across their chest
But ask them for real help
And suddenly nobody’s left
Friendship here survives
Until the first hard day
Then
Sorry bro I’m busy
And they slowly fade away
Watching all this fake behavior
Made me realize something
I don’t need this circus
Or their plastic kingdom
I’d rather stay authentic
Even without luxury
Than become a fake king
On a cardboard throne pretending
City of masks and roles
Everybody plays kings
When the streetlights die
You finally see the fakes within
City of masks and roles
Ego costs more than dreams
When the lights go out
Only fear remains underneath
Everybody knows your name
When money’s in your hand
But lose everything once
And suddenly nobody stands beside you
Real people are rare
You can count them on one hand
The rest are only shadows
Who mastered pretending
I stay away from all this dirt
I’ve got my own road
My own mindset
My own limits
My own code
Let them keep acting
Let them wear their masks proudly
I walk without makeup
Without costumes
Without lies around me
My district taught me
Be yourself or stay silent
Don’t play somebody
You still haven’t become yet
And while this whole city
Turns itself into theatre
I stand outside the stage
Because I’m not an actor
Masks…
Masks…
Masks…
Take them off…
Roles…
Roles…
Roles…
Enough pretending…
This city suffocates
Everybody who stays real
But I chose truth
I chose being myself
City of masks and roles
Everybody plays kings
When the streetlights die
You finally see the fakes within
City of masks and roles
Ego costs more than dreams
When the lights go out
Only fear remains underneath
City of masks…
Take yours off…
Show me who you really are…
