I wandered lonely as a cloud,
Floating high above the hills.

A golden host that gave me thrills.

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as stars at night,
They twinkled, shining, endless light.
Dancing daffodils, you lift my soul,
In your golden glow, I feel whole.
Even when the world is grey and still,
Your joy returns, my heart to fill.
Oh, dancing daffodils, forever bright,
You bring the sunshine into my life.
The waves beside them danced along,
But not as bright as your joyful song.
A poet’s heart cannot but smile,
In your golden company awhile.
I gazed—and gazed, but little knew,
The wealth of joy that comes from you.
And oft, when I lie in quiet thought,
Your golden dance returns, unbought.
