This feeling is so fleeting,
But sure enough it's here and it when it hits,
It covers me completely,

My old familiar friend,
My long-term pillow and blanket,

It's sure to keep me wrapped up,
But it's a warmth I thought I'd let go long ago,
I was accustomed to the cold,

Primates on the roadside,
Trading coffee and goods for their well-earned time,

Never felt so out of touch,
I only stopped off for some lunch,
Computer says it's far too much,

I can't let go,
I can't unlearn what I know,
Rewire my brain,

Can you help me get back to a steady pace that I feel comfortable?

I need cruise control,
Help me craft a stronger rope that when I need to I can hold,

Because my hands keep slipping,
